Mary’s Magnificat

Oh, how my soul sings praise to the Lord

My spirit finds joy in God above

Oh Savior, be magnified I pray

For you have looked upon me with love

Humble and lowly, your servant I am

Yet somehow with me you find favor

From now on generations will call me blessed

For within me grows Jesus the Savior

Oh Mighty One, Oh holy One

For me you have done great things

Your mercy continues through all generations

Hope and peace your salvation brings

Tremendous strength is in your hand

You scatter the haughty and proud

You bring down the princes and lift up the weak

And silence those who are loud

The humble exalted, the hungry are filled

While the rich leave with empty hands

Israel is helped and led by your mercy

Your perfect love fulfills all commands

A promise you made long, long ago

To Abraham, his daughters and sons

This promise you keep to give us a Savior

Somehow through me, your chosen one

I bless you! I praise you! I magnify you!

My soul sings praise to your name

You hear me. You see me. I rejoice in you, Lord

Your goodness, O God, I proclaim.

                                                                                         based on Luke 2:46-55
